MCASA College Consortium

2012 Source: Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Inc. (MCASA)

In the Spring of 2001, the MCASA established the College Consortium to address sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking. The consortium is a statewide network of college staff and other professionals that work to collectively prevent violence and respond to the needs of victim-survivors on Maryland campuses.

The MCASA College Consortium project provides an opportunity for every campus in Maryland to develop effective policies and protocols that demonstrate to every student that:

  • Violence will not be tolerated.
  • Sexual assault, stalking and intimate partner violence are crimes with serious legal consequences.
  • Immediate and confidential support of sexual assault victims will be provided to facilitate their long-term healing.

The mission of MCASA is to help prevent sexual assault, advocate for accessible, compassionate care for survivors of sexual violence, and work to hold offenders accountable.
