K-12 Students

As a student, your job is to study and learn. Doing your job requires a safe and secure environment in which you and your classmates are free to concentrate on what's important. That's what school safety is all about.
You and your classmates play a very important role in school safety, first, by behaving in ways that are safe and appropriate. And that doesn't just mean while you're in class, but also in the community, on the way to and from school, and online. Secondly, it's important to be aware of your surroundings and your classmates at school. The fact is, that students are usually the first to see signs of problems like bullying and violence in their peers. So be aware. And if you see something that concerns you, say something to an adult or authority figure. You could prevent a bad situation, or possibly even save a life!

Most of all, work hard, and have fun!
